LACASA Center’s Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Council, the Great Start Collaborative of Livingston County, and United Healthcare will host the 2nd Annual Community Baby Shower for all expectant and new parents in Livingston County on Saturday, October 15, 2016.

cap-shower-baby-1“This is a very fun event,” said Holly Naylor, LACASA’s CAP Council coordinator. “We will have door and raffle prizes, games, free food, and many opportunities for families to connect with the organizations that can support them.”

The Baby Shower will feature tables from groups including local government agencies, libraries, parent support groups, breastfeeding support, and businesses with goods and services to offer young families. Educational programs on safe sleep, infant crying, and what to do when your child is sick will also be a part of the event.

“An attendee from last year’s Community Baby Shower told us that she had struggled as a new mom and appreciated learning about all of the help she could receive locally, Naylor said.

“Other parents mentioned the educational programs, and many talked about all of the prizes,” said Naylor. “We would love to have all expectant and new parents join us to celebrate their baby and learn how this community can assist their family.”

The shower will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Heart of the Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 228 Burkhart Road in Howell.

For more information about the Community Baby Shower, please contact Holly Naylor at 517-548-1350 or email her at hnaylor@lacasacenter.org.
