Call for Local Business Nominations: Family Friendly Award

Family Friendly AwardThe Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce and LACASA’s CAP (Child Abuse Prevention) Council are seeking nominations for the 2013 Family Friendly Award.

This award was designed to recognize companies that encourage and enable employees to make family the number one priority in their lives.

The deadline for award nominations is Wednesday, February 20.

“Everyone benefits when employees are given flexibility and support to adequately address their own needs and the needs of their families,” said Deanna Norris, CAP Council Director.

“The result is stronger families, safer children and a more satisfied workforce. We are thrilled to be working with the Chamber again this year to identify companies deserving of this award,” Norris said.

Past winners have included companies offering unique programs or benefits especially helpful to families, like on-site daycare, parenting classes and matching fund programs that help employees save money for future needs.

Other companies have been honored for providing significant support to employees during times of family crisis and for creating work environments that allow staff members the time necessary to take care of family needs as they arise.

The 2013 Family Friendly Award will be presented at the annual State of the Chamber Luncheon on Thursday, February 28.

For additional information, or to obtain nomination forms, contact the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce at (810) 227-5086, or the CAP Council at LACASA, (517) 548-1350.
