We are Seeking Nominations for a Champion

LACASA Center’s CAP (Child Abuse Prevention) Council and the Great Start Collaborative are asking for the Livingston County community’s help in submitting nominations for the 2016 Champion for Children award.

Dedicated individuals can make a tremendous impact towards ensuring that Livingston County children grow up safe, healthy and ready to succeed in life. The Champion for Children award seeks to recognize those individual and thank them for their dedication to our children.

This year, CAP and the Great Start Collaborative are looking for an outstanding individual who devotes significant time and energy to helping children in Livingston County. Past recipients have been educators, coaches, family support workers, foster parents, child care providers, and community volunteers.

Nominees may be a person whose love of children is evident in the work they do, or in the way they spend their extra time. It could be someone who tutors children and helps them succeed in school or someone who helps troubled or sick children.  There are many champions among us who strive to help the children in our community and who deserve recognition for their efforts.

If you know a Champion for Children, please contact Holly Naylor, CAP Council coordinator, for a nomination form by sending an e-mail to hnaylor@lacasacenter.org or by calling LACASA at (517) 548-1350, ext. 287.

The Champion for Children Award will be presented at LACASA’s 35th Anniversary Black & White Masquerade Gala set for Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Pinckney.

The Great Start Collaborative of Livingston County is a partnership of early childhood experts, parents and community organizations who work together to ensure that Livingston County children are prepared to succeed in school and in life.

The CAP Council is a program of LACASA and a designated local council of the Michigan Children’s Trust Fund. CAP programs are funded, in part, by the Livingston County United Way.

Nomination Deadline: Nominations will be accepted through Friday, Oct. 7, 2016.
