Development Coordinator Career Opportunity

LACASA Center currently is seeking a creative and collaborative person with a strong background in relationship building and special events management. This position assists the Chief Development Officer in key areas of benefactor communications, donor engagement and fundraising initiatives.

A primary focus of this position is managing LACASA’s signature fundraising events and coordinating a variety of smaller agency events and/or outside-party fundraising drives each year. Other important aspects of this position include database management and donor communications.

The Development Coordinator works closely with LACASA Center’s event committees, donors, sponsors, vendors, board members, staff, volunteers, and the community at large. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable coordinating all aspects of special events, including strategic event planning; budget development and tracking; sponsorship acquisition; event logistics and staging; event communications and promotions; and database management.

Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field, and exceptional interpersonal skills. A minimum of two year’s experience in nonprofit development/event planning is required. Experience with public relations, promotional marketing and social media is considered a plus. The ability to work both collaboratively and independently is essential, as are excellent organizational skills and strong written and oral communication skills. Computer proficiency is required, especially in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Familiarity with database and fundraising platforms (Donor Perfect & Constant Contact) is highly desirable

Please Note: All candidates must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. This position involves working occasional evenings and weekends.
