Legal Advocacy Services
Our legal advocates help survivors gain a better understanding of the criminal and civil legal process. We also can advocate on a client’s behalf with the police, prosecutor’s office and probation officers.
LACASA’s legal advocates provide a variety of services to survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault, including:
Explanation of victim’s rights
- Assistance with Personal Protection Orders (PPO)
- Court accompaniment
- Emotional support throughout the legal process
Our advocates are not attorneys, but they are trained and highly skilled in providing legal information and resources.
Legal Clinic
Our free legal clinic service is offered twice a month by appointment. A visiting attorney provides 30-minute consultations at no charge. Sessions are held the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. Please call our Crisis Line at 866-522-2725 to schedule an appointment.
