Local artist Lilith Dorr debuts her new series of work on exhibit now at Art in Bloom in Brighton

The inspirational work of local artist Lilith Dorr is on exhibit at Brighton’s Art in Bloom Studio now through March 15, 2013, and a portion of the show’s proceeds will benefit LACASA.

Harmonic Rapport: A Celebration of Visual Poetry,” debuts Dorr’s latest series of work. This vibrant collection conveys a sense of playfulness and optimism as colors and textures converge.

“My inspiration for this collection came from poetry,” said Dorr. “Prose influenced each piece of work with the intention of bringing pleasure and beauty to viewers.”

Every piece featured in the exhibit is accompanied by a graphic rendering of a poem that motivated the artistic outcomes. These mixed-media works vary in size and approach—from large, free-form wall hangings to smaller framed pieces.

Dorr, a staunch supporter of domestic violence survivors, is donating 30 percent of the show’s sale proceeds to LACASA.

A Meet-the-Artist Reception is set for Saturday, March 2, from 6 – 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend, enjoy refreshments, and talk with the artist.

Art in Bloom Florist and Art Studio is located at 409 W. Main Street in Brighton. For more information about the exhibit, call 810-227-9500 or visit
